2004 Tahoe Door Key Lock Not Working

The door locks on my 1999 tahoe stopped working and i checked the fuse which was fine.

The relay seems to be working for the door locks when i hit the remote but the locks do not respond and the fuse is still good for the door lock. At this point you ll want to check and make sure that your physical key or emergency valet key is able to work the locks. I replaced the power window mirror door lock switch on my 2009 tahoe. Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again.

This is driving me crazy. However there could also be a mechanical or electrical problem with the door locks. But cannot get the on off on off while holding the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob to work. Both my remote entry fobs for my 2004 silverado quit working at the same time.

I replaced the power window mirror door lock switch on my 2009 tahoe. Try operating the door lock switch to rule out the idea that the door lock is not working. When tahoe parked outside depending on what side of vehicle is being hit by the sun the back doors will not unlock with key fob or door lock buttons. Rule out the door lock.

For vehicles with traditional style door lock cylinders and keys a bad power door lock relay will merely disable the power door lock feature. However vehicles without door lock cylinders will not be able to lock or unlock the doors until power is restored. The only button that works is the driver side window. It only happens to back doors and whenever it is hot outside in phx is all the time. Have to manually unlock door from inside. For vehicles equipped with door lock cylinders the door can still be opened using the key. Get into the vehicle from another door if the door you are working on will not let you enter the vehicle.
