The passenger front window will not go up.
2000 jeep cherokee drivers door window stuck down.
I have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee larendo.
The problem was that the upper window track cable pulled through the plastic track guide.
This leads me to believe that it is not the motor this time.
I purchased a brand new motor and installed it but the same problem is occuring.
If it works ok now the window motor is.
So the same problem reemerged on the same window.
Get inside the car and open the door as you are holing the window switch down slam the door shut a few times sometimes this will jar the window motor loose if it is stuck.
Disconnect the window from the motor.
The drivers side window is stuck open again.
Drive the glass to the full down position by pushing down on depress the window.
Get two pieces of wood.
Meter d the leads to the motor and i m getting 12v rolling down but not rolling up.
Get 1 2 pieces of wood 1 foot long is fine that will serve as braces for holding the window in place from the inside of the door you can also use painter s tape.
It seems this would the solution to my grand cherokee 98.
Drive the glass into the full up position by pulling up on the window switch to its second detent manual mode and holding switch until the glass is fully closed.
The window will go down but not up and will only respond to the passenger front button and not the master button on the driver side.
The alarm can not be activated.
For some reason the leads are not switching polarity.
Actually moves up and down a little bit.
It is not stuck in the tracks as it moves front to back and side to side in its channel.
Have a 2000 grand cherokee.
When the door panel is off and the switch is manipulated then it works for almost 2 or 3 days and then again nothing works.
Window rolled down but won t come back up.
The motor sounds and by the partial movement appears to be working properly.
This is a way to troubleshoot door locks windows door switches in any jeep cherokee wrangler liberty from 1999 2005.
I have a problem with my 2000 jeep cherokee.
The drivers switch is the master switch and not like the others.
Same issue using both the front and rear window switches.
Among the windows the remote door lock mirror and light does not work at all.
4 hours ago i left my house responding to a 2 car mva with entrapment and power lines down ended up having to shut down the whole road so when i rolled up i rolled my windows down about an hour later i had to run to get more road flares cause i ran out i got back and lit them but the wind was blowing towards the jeep so i closed the windows but the drivers side crawled up then got stuck.
If the window goes up but not down most likely the switch.
You will need to hold the window up once you remove the screws of the regulator mechanism so that the window does not fall off the regulator mechanism.
Yesterday we pulled into a parking lot closed the passenger door and watched the window go down all by itself.
Driver side operates fine.
